The bulking phase of the bodybuilding diet is also similar to a weight-gaining diet, which also recommends consuming a variety of nutritious foods to put on weightand help prevent and/or slow muscle breakdown. Muscle loss: With the bulking phase, the body will begin to shed the protein in the old muscle while maintaining an adequate amount of blood glucose in the new muscle, bulking foods.
